New Words!

Tobi has learned many new words, phrases, and sounds! Read for more details...

I apologize for not posting up an article in such a long time... it's just that I've been too carried away with life to blog.
Anyways, I bring to you great news about Tobi: she has learned to speak many words and phrases! Of them are "Faya", "I love you", "Hello!", "Tobi go inside", "'Nee-wah'", "Scraaaaatch", "What'cha doing", the sound of the telephone ringing or beeping, and she makes up some whistles of her own. Also, Tobi's learned to step onto a finger or perch on command! =D What achievements!
That has been my update on how lovely Tobi is doing. Farewell for now, and let us hope the future has more exciting news to bring!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOBI!!!

Well, you heard it! It's Tobi's first ever birthday! Although it was 4 weeks ago from the day I made this, we're still celebrating the happiness! Read on...

On January 15, 2008, Tobi's first ever birthday popped up! That was 4 weeks ago, (I posted this on Febuary 12, 2008) but we are still celebrating the happiness! On that day, I made a small cake out of peanuts, dried fruit, and a strawberry. She didn't necessarily eat it, but she was probably happy that I took the time to make it. Anyways, this song is especially for Tobi: Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Tobi, Happy Birthday to you! I will always take care of you, Tobi.

Well, that was mainly it. Please watch out for my next article...

THE BIRDS ARE BACK!!!

You heard it! I haven't made a post about this yet, so this is it! Tobi as well as my other birds came back from other care! Read on...

If you have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about, here's the story: On December 15, 2007, part of my family and I had to take a flight to California. The birds were at my house at this time, with my dad looking over them. A week passed in our small house in California and our dad had to come, too, so he transferred the birds to my aunt. Two weeks pass, and all of us come home to New York. Although, the birds wouldn't be able to come inside our house yet, since our thermostat was broken and the temperature stayed around the 50's for a few days. About another week after we came, the heating was finally fixed and yesterday, on January 11, 2008, the birds arrived in our house! They are all fine, but Tobi had some feather loss. I'm worried about if it may be feather picking. My other birds have gained some weight. So, that is it! Tobi's birthday will be coming up very soon, so watch out for my next article!

IS IT REALLY WORDS THIS TIME?

Lately, Tobi has been making a variety of queer sounds. But now, Tobi is beginning to say her own name! Read on...

Well, now because of the subtitle you probably know that Tobi has a wide vocabulary of queer sounds. For a long time since we got Tobi, she has been mainly whistling & growling. But yesterday, (I made this post on 10/21/07) and today, Tobi has been making noises that sound like her name, "Tobi". Even though these sounds are muffled up, she is still saying it & even my babysitter as well as my grandma swear that they heard it, just like me! This is really phenomenal! Is it words? Is it just Tobi's ordinary noises? I will never know until she really says "Tobi". But anyways, she stepping up towards her talking goal, she is getting there, and this can be an historic moment in her lifetime! We will find out what happens next time on Tobi's blog...

A REAL IMITATOR! #2

Well, well, well! Tobi has a huge vocabulary now! Even though she can't talk right now, let's hear about all the other sounds she makes.

Tobi really can make sounds! She's getting smarter by the week! These are some of the sounds she makes: Whistling, "growling", "screaming", little peeps (or wimpers). The whistling she does is extrordnary! She usually does it in the morning. And so the other sounds too in the morning. She repeats exactly how I do it! The "wimpering" sound may mean that Tobi's sad that we have all the good foods. She always does that at night if my dad is eating dinner with me & my brother. Later on, Tobi will talk & I will post about it too if she talks. Thanks for reading this! We'll see what will go on next on a different post. :)

A REAL IMITATOR!

Is Tobi actually imitating things? You bet! Read more about it right here, right now.

Did you know that Tobi is imitating things!? Well, here is the story about what we think is going on & what in the world Tobi is imitating. First of all, when Tobi arrived at our house, she didn't make a single peep. The next day, Tobi was making little peeps & I/my dad had no idea what she was doing. My dad thought & probably knew Tobi was imitating birds in the previous aviary + my birds too. For several days & today (which was June 7, 2007), Tobi was making a lot of new noises including really high pitched & cuddly souding noises. Now I probably know that Tobi is imitating things, so in the future, she definitely or might talk. Hopefully, there's a good chance! Well, it looks like we have no ordinary & average african grey here. We have a baby genius in our house! Thanks for reading & coming up will be more articles (if anything really cool ever happens :) ) Bye!

WE GOT HER!!!!

It's the moment we've all been waiting for on this blog. Tobi arrived at my house on May 19, 2007!!! Read more about it...

Well folks, you heard it! Tobi came at my house just 4 days ago (I typed this on May 23, I'm sorry). This is all how it happened. When it was 3:00 PM on May 19, 2007, my dad & brother went with me to LaGuardia Airport. Tobi was supposed to be there since he was going on an airplane from the state of Georgia. We arrived there the time the plane arrived, 3:30 sharp. So we went to the Contenental Airlines manager (since Tobi flew on Contenental Airlines) & gave Tobi's flight info. The manager said she would be ready in 20 minutes. So in 20 minutes, we went to the manager & there Tobi was! She was in a small carrying cage that we brought back home. Ever since that time, Tobi was living at our house now for four days. I luckily got bird food from the previous breeder that Tobi was with, so Tobi was eating. :) But anyways, Tobi is here with me at home & feel free to post any comments! Thank you!
